CHRISTIAN YOUTH IN ACTION
Christian Youth in Action is a program for Young
people from all over Southern California to prepare
them to be summer missionaries. Every summer,
usually at the end of June, teens gather at the Riverside Baptist University for 8 days of intensive
study in preparation for teaching 5 - Day Clubs in their own neighborhoods. The students reside in the dorms, eat in the cafeteria and attend classes every morning. In the afternoon they go out in the
neighborhood and actually teach a club of children
putting into practice what they have learned in class. The students are put into teams of three with an adult "coach" who attends the club with them to
to encourage and assist them.
During class time they will be taught how to lead a child to Christ, give the invitation and how to effectively counsel the child. They will learn how to use the the Wordless Book, teach a Bible lesson, and how to include the gospel in every lesson. Also
they will be instructed on methods of teaching a memory verse and using repetition games. Other instruction includes prayer, music, missionary stories and discipline.
When the students return home, they are equipped to teach Bible clubs, either sponsored through their church or through Child Evangelism Fellowship in La Mesa.

Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Isaiah 6:8
